Learn how Mach Lumber uses BPI’s upgraded eCommerce site to save time, reduce errors, and strengthen contractor relationships.
At Building Products Inc. (BPI), technology isn’t about keeping up — it’s about leading with purpose.
Our eCommerce platform was built to help lumberyards and building material dealers gain more control, save time, and serve contractors faster. It’s a practical extension of BPI’s mission: simplifying the supply chain so our partners can focus on what they do best — building.
Accuracy That Builds Confidence
The previous version of BPI’s eCommerce site required extra time and manual checks, but the new platform changed that immediately.
Matt Beckius of Mach Lumber said the new version is “much improved versus the old one” and “far more user-friendly.” After hearing from his BPI sales representative that the site had been upgraded, Matt decided to give it a try — and quickly noticed how much faster and easier it was to use.
“BPI’s upgraded eCommerce site gives us up-to-date information on stock availability and pricing, allowing me to quote clients quickly. Orders are processed more quickly, and their accuracy has greatly increased. Getting accurate shipments to the jobsite results in a better relationship with our contractors.”

He added that being able to enter orders directly online gives him greater control and confidence in each transaction. With fewer data handoffs and increased visibility into product details, Mach Lumber has seen a noticeable reduction in order discrepancies and returns, resulting in smoother deliveries and fewer job site interruptions.
Time Savings That Add Up
According to Matt, the platform has made a measurable difference in daily efficiency.
He said there’s “no more waiting on reps’ emails or double-checking their entries.” Now, “I enter once, forget it, and know it’s correct.”
By placing orders directly through BPI eCommerce, Mach Lumber saves significant time on each transaction and avoids follow-up calls or corrections that were previously part of the ordering process.
Visibility That Drives Smarter Decisions
Matt said one of the biggest advantages of the new site is real-time visibility into stock and pricing.
“It shows what’s in stock and the pricing to be able to quote right away, eliminating calls to reps except for specials,” he explained. “And I can see what comparable items are in stock if what I’m looking for is unavailable.”
That level of transparency helps him serve contractors faster and maintain confidence in every order.
Discovery and Dealer Growth
While using the new eCommerce site, Matt also discovered additional opportunities within BPI’s product offering.
He said that “browsing categories revealed product lines I hadn’t thought to buy from BPI,” including “doors and higher-grade multi-unit doors.”
This digital accessibility allows Mach Lumber to expand into new categories without needing to search multiple vendor catalogs or make extra calls.
Dealer Feedback That Shapes the Future
As BPI continues to refine the eCommerce platform, Matt shared thoughtful feedback aimed at making the system even more intuitive and dealer-friendly. He emphasized how valuable it is that BPI listens to its partners and continues to evolve based on real-world use. That open communication helps ensure the platform keeps improving in ways that support accuracy, speed, and simplicity for every dealer who uses it.
Digital Partnership, Midwest Practicality
Matt’s experience underscores what BPI’s eCommerce platform was designed to do — simplify transactions, improve accuracy, and strengthen relationships between dealers and contractors.
He said he now prefers ordering online, noting that he has “no interest in a catalog” and wants “everything online.”
Matt also shared that he would be less likely to purchase from a supplier that doesn’t provide online visibility, even if competitor pricing were slightly higher.
“It’s great for new employees who are used to doing everything online,” he said.
BPI President Kyle Schull describes the platform as an extension of the company’s partnership philosophy: “Our eCommerce platform isn’t just a website — it’s an extension of the partnerships we’ve built for decades. Listening to our customers helps us make it stronger every day.”
With real-time visibility, improved accuracy, and greater independence, BPI eCommerce is helping dealers like Mach Lumber work faster, with fewer errors — and strengthen their relationships one order at a time.
