Fiberglass Columns

HB&G offers a wide variety of fiberglass columns. From their spun cast PermaCast® columns to the pultruded PermaLite® columns, HB&G has the options for your style and budget. They offer round, square, RoughSawn®, and craftsman in the PermaCast® line and round or square in the PermaLite® line.

HB&G fiberglass columns are the only columns that comply with changes to the Building Codes (IBC/IRC) and to the Acceptance Criteria for Fiberglass Columns. Please visit the information center for load bearing capabilities and ICC ESR-1361 Report for PermaLite® and PermaCast® columns. Split columns are not load bearing.

HB&G fiberglass columns are rot-proof, weatherproof, insect proof, and highly durable. PermaCast® columns are cast from a proprietary fiber-reinforced polymer composite with exceptional durability and strength-to-weight characteristics, enabling them to stand up to the elements like no other product on the market. PermaLite® columns are pultruded from fiberglass strands with the same durability as a PermaCast® column with a thinner wall and lighter weight. The caps and bases for fiberglass columns are made from durable, low-maintenance materials with both architectural and historical authenticity or a modern, contemporary look.

Aluminum Columns

Aluminum Columns from HB&G are another lightweight, loadbearing option for porches and decks. Their aluminum collection is designed as a decorative, self-supporting element for porches, entrances, driveway-over-hangs, and many other applications.

Powder coated with a baked on coating, the aluminum collection has a low maintenance, uniform finish. The aluminum collection comes prefinished in white.

Options include round and square fluted, recessed panel Heritage, and textured Elite or Legend.

PVC Column Wraps

Leading the industry in column innovation, HB&G PVC column wraps are made from cellular PVC which offers the advantages of being unaffected by moisture and insects but has the thickness, ease of use, and workability of wood.

HB&G's precision manufactured predesigned cellular PVC column L-wraps have mitered joints, include cap and base trim (sold separately with PermaSnap), nail strip, squaring blocks, and adhesive caulk. They are easy to install and are backed by a 25-year Limited Warranty.

Choose from a Square or Craftsman PermaWrap® in plain, fluted, recessed panel, or raised panel style. PermaSnap™ is a quick and easy solution to wrap an existing structural post and come with three different trim options. RigidWrap is their latest innovation in the PVC line. RigidWrap® is a fully assembled with aluminum post option that provides wind-uplift protection with an aesthetically pleasing look.

Wood Columns

HB&G's architectural wood shop can produce a complete line of wood column styles and sizes on a stock and custom size basis. They offer columns ranging from the timeless architectural orders, all-tapered, plain or fluted styles. Columns are available in paint grade, finger-jointed wood species (pine, redwood, or cedar) for interior or exterior applications or stain grade woods for interior applications. HB&G stock wood columns are available in a finger-jointed pine. They can factory prime columns to be painted and apply an asphaltum coating to the interior of the column for added protection for columns to be installed outside.
