BPI Limited Warranty

All Building Products Inc. (BPI) products are warranted against “MANUFACTURING DEFECTS” for one (1) year from date of invoice. If BPI determines it is an installation issue, there will be a service call charge to the lumberyard and/or builder. All claims submitted within one calendar year from date of invoice will cover both BPI service labor to replace/install the product as well as the defective product itself. BPI will not cover any outside labor including, but not limited to, customer finishing and removal/installation of product. BPI reserves the exclusive right to determine if repair, rework or replacement is the best course of action.

Warped Doors

Any door that is cut down by BPI will not be covered under warranty. Flush and Hardboard door warpage that does not exceed 1⁄4” on any door under 3’6” wide and 8’ tall is not a defect and will not be covered under warranty. Stile/Rail door warpage that does not exceed 1⁄4” on any door under 3’ wide and 7’ tall is not a defect and will not be covered under warranty.

Expansion/Contraction

Doors are allowed up to 1⁄4” of movement due to environmental conditions such as temperature and humidity.

Finishing

Interior stained and painted products have a limited warranty of one (1) year from date of delivery due to manufacturing defects. All doors finished by customer must be sealed on all six sides (front & back, top & bottom, and both edges). Any door not sealed properly will void the warranty. Exterior painted steel and fiberglass doors have a limited warranty of one (1) year from date of delivery due to manufacturing defects. Exterior stained doors do NOT have any finish warranty associated with them due to the natural wear and weathering of these products. All finished exterior door frames do NOT have any finish warranty associated with them.

Limitations

BPI will not be liable for the following:

  • Normal wear and the natural weathering of surfaces
  • Variations in color or texture of wood products
  • Problems due to installation or field finishing of product
  • Failure to provide adequate overhang or damage due to heat buildup on exterior doors
  • Damage Claims

All claims for damaged product must be submitted within one (1) week of delivery. Claims must be accompanied by pictures of the damaged product.
