Building Products Inc (BPI) Lumber & Engineered Wood Division located in Council Bluffs, IA announced a new Engineered Wood partnership with Barrette Structural Distribution Inc. (Barrette) to distribute their TRIFORCE®, an open joist, in the BPI service area of the Upper Midwest.

Barrette designed TRIFORCE® to help builders meet both the 2012 and 2015 International Residential Code® which requires that unprotected floor/ceiling assemblies exceed a minimum level of fire resistance to address safety concerns. Before now, the cost of achieving this fire resistance has limited builders to expensive options.

“Barrette places high value on its distributors and believes in their capabilities. We have had increased demand for TRIFORCE® in the Upper Midwest and BPI’s footprint in the area will help us meet that demand to be successful,” said Brian K. Ellenberger, National Sales Director for TRIFORCE®.

“With its unique open web design without metal plates and one end adjustable up to 2’ on site, we are excited to add TRIFORCE® to our lineup of Engineered Wood products“. Builders and lumberyards in the Midwest are always looking for innovative options for the ever changing fire codes and TRIFORCE® is great solution”, said Nick Fitzgerald, BPI Branch Manager.

With 5 locations now expanding to include engineered wood products, BPI provides a great service to lumber dealers to get jobs packs, units and trucks of EWP products. Software, provided by Calculated Structural Design (CSD) via TRIFORCE® will be available as part of our service package as well.
