POSITION TITLE: Dispatcher - BPI of South Dakota - Sioux Falls, SD

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A DISPATCH SUPERVISOR:

  • Communicates daily with drivers, including leased drivers
  • Works with Purchasing to ensure loads and picked up and delivered on time
  • Manages day to day fleet operations and productivity
  • Keep drivers informed and motivated
  • Reports to General and Assistant Manager any incidents encountered on the road
  • Monitors road conditions for the fleet across the 6 state region
  • Inspects the fleets equipment, and reports any defects to appropriate personnel
  • Reports serious mechanical problems to the appropriate personnel
  • Takes all efforts to keep the fleet compliant with all DOT Requirements

BPI'S DISPATCHER MUST HAVE: 

  • Ability to communicate properly and frequently with the fleet, office staff, logistic companies, and partnered manufacturers.
  • Ability to lift and move materials throughout their day. Being able to lift 50 pounds
  • Ability to open trailer curtains by using full use of arms and shoulders
  • Ability to legibly track and record time logs with all drivers
  • Ability to remain organized while multi-tasking in a fast paced environment
  • Help the fleet by managing their time in accordance with all DOT regulations

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 1-3 years of dispatching experience
  • Must be able to work independently as well as part of the team
  • Must have a valid Class-A CDL
  • Knowledge of DOT regulations as well as ELD compliances
  • Must successfully complete pre-employment testing
